Do you want to visit the cats staying at our shelter? Whether you’re looking to adopt a cat, curious about becoming a volunteer or just want to cuddle the cats, you’re warmly welcome to stop by during open day at the shelter! ♥

Keep on reading for opening hours and more information!

Open Day at Brakka – Opening hours and practical information

We host open house events («åpen dag»/»open day») at our help center, «Brakka,» twice a week:

  • Thursdays from 6–7 PM

  • Sundays from 2–4 PM

Brakka is located at Sluppenvegen 10B, just next to/behind NorEngros.

During open day hours, you can come inside Brakka and meet the cats staying there. We also sell various items, such as cat toys and merchandise, with all proceeds going directly to our work helping homeless and neglected animals.

Everyone is welcome to drop by during open day, whether you’re looking to adopt a new family member or just want to say hello and cuddle with the cats. There’s no need to let us know in advance – it’s open to all! ♥

During open day, shelter hosts will be present to welcome visitors. Outside of these hours, volunteers will only be around occasionally during the day – we have no paid staff, and everything is run on a 100% volunteer basis.

If an open day has to be canceled for any reason, this will be announced on our social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) and under “News” on our website.

The cats you meet at Brakka are just a small portion of our cats, as we always have dozens in our care, and Brakka only has space for around 10 of them. The rest live with our amazing foster homes. This means that not all the cats you see on our website are at Brakka at any given time. Small kittens that have not yet been neutered/spayed and vaccinated will naturally not be in the common room at Brakka – only neutered, fully vaccinated, and healthy cats who are not on special diets or medications will be present.

Note: There is no restroom (for humans) at Brakka!

You’re warmly welcome to visit us! ♥
